Detailed mock-up.

I got a lot of my inspiration for this front cover off TOP of the POPS magazine as I really liked how they laid out their front cover, and the colour choices they used to attract their audience. I looked at TOP of the POPS magazine because of it being a pop magazine, the same genre as I am doing.

This was the magazine that I looked at for inspiration for my magazine draft, as the layout was the type of thing I was looking for. I really liked the triangle to show the main cover story, as it grabs your attention and looks really good. It also fits the genre as it is pop and it is bright and funky.

Photographic Influences.

I like this image because of how the background and clothing she is wearing is associated with girls, because it is pink. This would suit my magazine very well because the audience is mainly girls, and these girls would be likely to listen to Jessie J's genre of music.

This would be a good idea for a front cover because of how fun and vibrant it looks. This would suit the audience for my magazine because it is of a boy band, which girls usually like a lot more than boys. I also like the use of colour because it is of a light blue and looks quite soft.

This looks like a good idea because of how fun and young Miley looks, and is from Billboard so shows that it is suitable for a music magazine. I like the use of a red microphone and red boxes as these grab the readers eye and attention.

This would be suited for a pop music magazine due to the audience it would be for; young teenage girls. I like the idea of having a girl band sat on chairs looking directly at the camera, as having them side-by-side makes them look like a band, and they look at the camera quite strong.

The idea of having a capital J to show who the image is of is quite a good one, and i really like this idea. Linking the J with part of the colour of the image is quite clever, so you know the two link. Having one image on the side and the text on the opposite side is good, because it straight away tells you who the interview is with so you can straight away determine whether you want to read it or not.

I like the use of pink in this double page spread as this would be an interview that a girl would be likely to read, based on the image and use of colour. I also like how there isn't just one image on the left, but also some images above the text which make the whole double page spread interesting.

Cast.

Props and locations.

I like this idea as a background for my front page of my magazine because of what is in it. I like the idea of flowers being in the scene as this is quite girly so would fit my target audience.

Quite a lot of magazines use a plain solid colour for the background of their front cover, as to not take the focus on whoever is on the page. I specifically chose this colour because pink is associated with girls so this fits my target audience, as this is mostly girls.

I liked this idea of someone holding a microphone as this illustrates the fact that they're a musician, which goes with the genre of magazine I'm doing. I also liked the idea of taking my image of someone with a mic in a recording studio, to make it look like they're recording a new album or single, which would be quite effective and look realistic.

Having an image of the galaxy as the background for my front cover would look quite effective because i could have the main image described as 'out of this world' which would suit the background and would look like a good promotion for a new artist or band.

I like this idea as a background for my front cover because of how it looks like something that would go onto a pop magazine front cover. It looks like it would be a poster for something and looks quite interesting.
